Support With Impact
At Valley Action Abilities (VAA), we believe that everyone is a valuable member of the communities we work in.
Based in Rosthern, Saskatchewan, we are a community-based organization that works with a diverse group of individuals. We believe in supporting people of every age and every ability in our community.
Personalized programming.
We work hard to develop personalized support services for everyone that we represent.
Our participants have the opportunity to choose their own programs and create their own opportunities.
Through person-directed planning, we provide those who access our programs with positive relationships, meaningful and authentic communities, and activities based on personal choice that meets their individual and specific needs and wants. Activities requested cover a wide range of opportunities and can be completely unique, even fulfilling a lifelong dream such as a significant trip or a one-time experience.
We continually look for new ways to develop and support people and communities. In doing so, we operate:
Three group homes for 16 adults experiencing an intellectual and developmental disability
Daily programming opportunities for nearly 40 adults experiencing disability
A SARCAN recycling depot
A Coin-Operated Laundromat.
Community-focused
We believe in that reciprocal relationships, and the spirit of volunteerism fosters amazing communities.
We aim to connect the people we support to the broader community to enrich the lives of our clients and the communities we work in. We work closely with a wide range of community partners, such as churches, organizations and individuals, to grow and maintain meaningful and productive relationships for everyone involved. As an active member in our community, we:
Play an important role in the work of our local food bank
Link the folks we serve to local camps
Develop programs with local musicians and artists
Provide opportunities for interactions and relation-building activities with local schools
Have a long history providing support to the new Canadians and refugees in our community.
